Birmingham, Alabama - Lexington Collection

Coming Soon!

5th Avenue North at 18th Street North
Birmingham, AL 35203

The historic 1926 Federal Reserve building in Birmingham, AL will soon be downtown Birmingham's premier address for the upscale business traveler. It will also aim to be the first hotel in Alabama designed to the US Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. The Federal Reserve Renovation and Tower is located at 5th Avenue North and 18th Street North, across the street from the Hugo Black Federal Courthouse and the historic former Federal Courthouse.

Phase I of the project will involve restoration of the 1926 Federal Reserve building and adjacent Annex into approximately 75 guest rooms. We expect to welcome guests by late 2008. Phase II will see the construction of approximately 200 hotel rooms in a mixed-use tower, with opening projected for 2009-2010.

InnWorks is the development consultant and eventual operator of this groundbreaking hotel. The Birmingham Lexington Collection hotel is being developed by Melaver, Inc., an award-winning third-generation family-owned real estate development firm specializing in environmentally sustainable projects. Among its many accomplishments, Melaver, Inc. developed the first LEED-certified all-retail shopping center in the U.S., the first LEED-certified McDonald's worldwide, and one of the first LEED-certified historic office buildings also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
